This natural garden pathway in Saddle River, Bergen County , NJ has large blue stone slabs that are 7-9' wide. It is complemented by the pink flowering Thymus pseudolanuginosus (Woolly thyme). Woolly thyme thrives in any sunny ,dry, well-drained spot. Patios, walks, rock gardens, stone walls, and pond borders all benefit from the creeping, cascading habit of woolly thyme. It also spills gracefully over stone walls and can be grown between stepping stones. As you are meandering along the pathway you will find Sedum cauticola (stone crop) whose foliage colors range from smoky blue to rich burgundy throughout the season. Sedum kamtschaticum (stone crop) has long lasting star like yellow flowers. Later in the season you will enjoy the feathery plumes of Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Hameln' (dwarf fountain grass), Miscanthus sinensis 'Strictus' (porcupine grass) and Leucanthemum x superbum 'Becky' (Shasta Daisy) whose white daisy flowers with a yellow center bloom from July to September.
